About this species

The Ruddy Mongoose is a distinctive south Indian endemic with a rich reddish-brown coat and black-tipped tail. Found in rocky, hilly terrain and dry forests of the Deccan and Western Ghats, it is more arboreal than other mongooses. Satpura, Nagarhole and Mudumalai offer reliable encounters.
