About this species

The Rufous-Necked Hornbill is one of Northeast India's most beautiful large birds — males have a brilliant rufous head and neck while females are black-headed. Found in the tall evergreen forests of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, it requires intact old-growth forest for nesting. Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary is the premier location.
